Kelvin was director-in-residence at The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre from 2009 to 2012 where he designed, devised and directed productions across Malaysia and Singapore. He also founded INDICINELIVE!, a sketch-comedy staple with The Actors Studio. A recurring nominee at the BOH Cameronian Arts Awards, Kelvin also taught theatre extensively to schools and corporate organizations. He currently leads the performing arts program at Sunway University, under the Department of Performance and Media. Upcoming: INDICINELIVE! 6  with The Actors Studio and BROHEMIA!, a devised take on the toxicity of masculinity from a queer lens. Kelvin also trains directors under Theatresauce’s Emerging Directors Lab program. Asher is a theatre all-rounder. Besides directing and acting, he stage-manages productions and has started to dabble in lighting design. Outside the theatre, Asher is a competent pianist, comic artist and YouTube content creator. His music-themed channel @pawsofahusky has garnered more than 35,000 subscribers with 5.6 million overall views -- so far. Diploma in Performing Arts: Sunway University, KL.

UIHUA CHEAH

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

UiHua had his first taste of the stage in 2010 as part of the INDICINELIVE!  sketch comedy ensemble. It tasted of paint and feet. Since then, some of his other engagements are Steve Cartoon's CartoonCorporal Punishment (which he also co-wrote), The Unexpected Guest, klpac's 10th Anniversary: Directors and Zak Zebra’s African Safari  in South Korea. UiHua also dabbles in stand-up, winning Best Overall Performance for Short + Sweet Comedy Malaysia in 2013 and 2014 with his, as evidenced, award-winning Tramp joke. Ask him about it. 

Many of his scriptwriting ventures have made successful premieres in his trash can, but those that have made it to stage include entries to Short + Sweet Theatre Malaysia (winning Best Script Award in 2011 and 2012), Lo Mio and Chiu Liet: Forbidden Love in Forbidden City, and the upcoming Euphrasia: The Musical. UiHua is currently the editor of Asklegal.my.

Veshalini is an illustrator, spoken word poet, actor, and co-founder of Coal Island Theatre, based in Port Dickson. Notable performances include The Actors Studio Seni Rakyat's sold out productions of Still TamingStill Taming & S'kolahLife Sdn Bhd: People, theatrethreesixty's Malaysia Throws Herself a Birthday Party, Sarah Kane's 4.48 Psychosis and Hideki Noda's The Bee with Theatresauce, and P.op Party at Urbanscapes. In 2018, Vesha represented Malaysia at the Asian Youth Theatre Festival in Singapore and St. Petersburg, Russia. She also wrote for the critically-acclaimed sketch comedy revue INDICINELIVE! V and made her directorial debut with Skin & Flowers: In Tender at the 2018 Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival.

Shahnaz is a BA student in International Business at TAR University-College. She is currently in the midst of her internship with Tune Hotels. Shahnaz first dabbled in theatre during her freshman year, and aspires to do more. Production-outreach management is a start. 

Emily's focal interest in theatre is playwriting, although she sometimes directs. She wrote The Play is Over and Between for Short + Sweet Theatre Malaysia, and directed 50 Cooks to a Pot of Broth and Now We Fight to the Death, under the same banner. Beyond theatre, Emily has a background in law and plays the piano.

Arief is a stage director, actor and playwright. He has performed and presented numerous works across Malaysia, including the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre, Penang Performing Arts Centre, and Dewan Filharmonik Petronas. His directing credits include Adiwijaya Iskandar’s Allah!, Alfian Sa’at’s Madu Dua, and Yasmina Reza’s God of Carnage. He was also dramaturg and assistant director to Kelvin Wong for Hideki Noda’s The Bee. In 2018, he completed Theatresauce’s Emerging Directors Lab, which resulted in the creation of two originally-devised works; Merdunya Bunyi Cengkerik, a totalitarian take on Romeo and Juliet set in a Kuala Lumpur of the near future, and the existentialist romance Api, Jangan Lupa Api.

As an actor, Arief is best known for his roles as Romeo in Joe Calarco’s Shakespeare’s R+J and Katurian in Martin McDonagh’s

The Pillowman

Esther's foray into theatre began as a child with performances in church. She graduated with a law degree but currently teaches speech and drama to children and teens. Acting credits: Remedy16-bit CoriolanusGruesome Playground InjuriesGallery of DeathFun at the Funeral, and Rashomon. Directing credits: Project EveMAB: A Manifestation of Dreams, Lynn Nottage's Poof!BELAH, and Pitch, Please. Esther completed Theatresauce's Emerging Directors Lab in 2017 and is in the midst of creating her first full-length devised work, dust, slated for mid 2019.

Esther enjoys learning about people, their stories, and life itself.
